You’ve arrived here because a GP, health visitor, social prescriber — or you yourself — felt you deserved support, connection and space to breathe. This page will gently walk you through what the Real Motherhood in Focus project is all about, how it works, and what to expect before joining.
Motherhood changes everything — our pace, our identity, our confidence and our sense of self.
So many mums feel lost in the noise of daily life, unsure of who they’re becoming while carrying so much love, so much pressure and so many expectations.
Real Motherhood in Focus is a calm, supportive space to slow down, breathe and reconnect with yourself.
We use simple photography and gentle reflection to help you notice your days, understand your emotions and honour the truth of your motherhood story.
No perfection.
No performance.
Just honesty, softness and space.

A gentle 12-week space for mums to explore identity, emotion and motherhood through mindful reflection and simple photography — using nothing more than the smartphone in your hand.
This isn’t about perfect pictures — it’s about slowing down, noticing your days and understanding who you are becoming as a mother.
Photography becomes a gentle tool — one that helps you notice your days, reflect on how you’re feeling, and rebuild your story with kindness.
This program gently guides you to explore:
The shift from “you before children” to “you now”
The parts of your identity that feel stretched or hidden
Your emotional landscape — overwhelm, joy, guilt, love, fear
The moments you might overlook in the rush of everyday life
Your personal story, told in your way, with your own eyes
Photography becomes your anchor.
A way to see yourself again.
A way to understand who you’re becoming.

Together, we’ll explore how your childhood, culture, memories and lived experiences shape the way you mother today.
Through weekly reflections and guided photo moments, you’ll begin to see your identity evolve — gently, honestly and without judgement.

I’m Rosie — photographer, mother, and founder of Mums Photo Academy.
Motherhood reshaped the way I saw everything — including my photography. As life grew messy, loud and beautifully real, I began documenting the chaos and tenderness of our days using the simple camera on my phone. These moments helped me make sense of my emotions and reconnect with the woman I was becoming.
Now my mission is to guide other mums to do the same — to slow down, notice their days and reclaim their family’s story through gentle, mindful images that honour identity, emotion and the truth of everyday motherhood.

Not at all. This isn’t about taking perfect photos — it’s about slowing down, noticing moments and using your phone as a tool for reflection.
This space is designed especially for overwhelmed mums. The sessions are calm, gentle and pressure-free. You can take part at your own pace.
No, sharing is always optional. You choose what feels safe for you.
Over time, many mums naturally form friendships in the group, and it often feels easier to open up. While you never have to share, it can be deeply supportive and nourishing when you do — this space is designed to hold you gently, just as you are.
No — it’s a wellbeing and creative reflection programme. It supports emotional wellbeing but does not replace therapy or mental health services.
Completely. Most mums arrive feeling unsure. Within minutes, they often feel relief — finally being in a space where they don’t have to pretend they’re okay.
Life with children happens. If you miss a session, you’ll receive a simple reflection prompt so you can stay connected.
Yes, absolutely. Children are welcome in the space. This programme understands the reality of motherhood, and you will never be excluded because you don’t have childcare. Come exactly as you are — with your little ones if needed.
No — groups are small, warm and intimate so every mum feels held and supported.
Just your phone, yourself, and a willingness to explore your story. Everything else is provided.
You’ll receive a gentle welcome email with all the details you need, and I’ll be here to support you every step of the way.
We gently explore how your past, childhood experiences, culture, and personal story shape who you are today.
Using your smartphone, you’ll learn to pause, notice, and capture moments that reflect your emotions and your truth — not perfection.
Calming practices woven into each week to help reduce overwhelm, create grounding moments, and help you make sense of your day.
Together, we create a visual archive of your motherhood story — not for social media, not for pressure — but for you.

This programme is delivered in partnership with Homebody Archive, combining mindful photography with guided reflective work. Together, we help you explore the stories, memories and feelings that shape who you are — creating a visual and emotional record of your motherhood identity.

By the end, you’ll have a small collection of images and reflections that tell the story of your identity — not what social media expects, not what you “should” feel — but what is true for you.

Motherhood isn’t just who we become… it’s everyone we’ve ever been.
Our childhood, our fears, our hopes, our tired eyes, our joy — all layered together as we grow into the mothers our children need

This project is about honouring every piece of that story.
Your past, your present, your becoming.
Your identity, held gently through images and reflection.
This is the visual journey we create together in Real Motherhood in Focus — not perfection, but truth.
